National Anthem

As I drove onto base this morning, I got "caught" by the morning colors.  I could not hear any of it through the din of the downpour, but other cars were stopped with their flashers on and all the pedestrians were stopped and getting sopped.

Then in struck me...

I was listening to the radio.  NHK.  Japanese Public Radio.  They were playing The Beach Boys Surfin' Safari.

So very American.  On Election Day.  A United States Presidential Election.

It was raining so hard you could surf down the streets...

Get out there and VOTE!!!

Election Day - Japanese Style

Living in Japan has its advantages - like with deadlines.  Being, basically, a day ahead of the rest of America, I have a extra day to shop sales, I don't have to get up at midnight for Cyber Monday (in fact, it is normal wakies time here!), forgot to renew your insurance?  No biggie - have an extra day.

Forgot to vote?!?  Oh, yeah - no dice.  In fact, our usual "advantage" becomes the disadvantage.  MY November 6th postmark happens on your 5th.  So, if you are reading this - you have one more day to make your final decisions.

Get out there and vote!
