You - Knee - Cycle

Dear Pop,

This years birthday gift gets it's place in the Birthday Gift Hall of Fame - right next to the Pogo Stick and the Stilts!!!

One Happy Boy to go with the "Happy Bicycling To You" welcome mat!

It came with admiration and A STAND!!!

This morning we went to church and then hustled out to run some errands (commissary run, coffee for me, bike shop for a surprise...).  Ian hustled us all - he ran into the fellowship hall, stuffed an entire oreo cookie in his mouth and didn't bother to hide the evidence.

We made a stop at Cycle Base Asahi and not only found what we came for, they sat us down, filled out our paper work and made sure we were pleased with our purchase.  I half-way expected to be served a mint afterword...

We got home and the boys got a little taste of what a day in my life is like.  They got to clean AND make the meals.  Dougie set the table: picnic, complete with his Curious George tea set and alarm clock (?!?!?).  Stefan served us the cookies he made this afternoon: chocolate-peanut butter no-bakes.  Ian brought drinks: two tall waters filled at the bathroom sink - all on his own (including the spill in transit - small relative to cup size).  Blue carrot cake was compliments of me - they had to have SOME nutrition after all (carrots are veggies...).

OK, so they still have a bit further to go before they reach "balanced meal", but they left a clean house and provided some great entertainment as we listened to one of the bands practicing at the park (our "background music").

Stefan actually gave us some of his moves - very briefly.  Then his new ride tipped and he was more concerned.  Ian answers the, "Hey Ian, where is your dancing?" by copying EVERYTHING Dougie does.  Right down to jumping on the slide.... And break dancing...

These crazy boys had a great time with their picnic dinner and just being silly.

As you can plainly see!

Stefan was soooooooooo excited that he "stayed up for at least a SECOND!!!"  I would expect no less from the boy who rides down the path while standing on his seat...  It will be interesting how this skill cross-transfers!

As a mom, my response to this gift my dear dad (Pop) bestowed on these boys?

HOT DAMN!!!!!

(Thank you, Dad, for the Hall-of-Fame prezzie!!!)
