Monday was Stefan's last day at The Sullivan's Elementary School. We went in to pass out treats to the class and to watch the Ringing Out Ceremony. When we got their, the First Grade class giving their "opinions" on wants vs. needs... Most made the argument that junk food was FOOD, and was, therefore, a need.
Stefan was insistent that "soil" was a need... for us... to grow food in... and we need food... did that include junk food?!?
Stefan was rung out from First Grade, Navy Style. When the kids arrive at The Sullivan's Elementary School, they are rung in, like when a Captain arrives on the ship. Same when they leave. His last day of first grade. His last first.
Tuesday brought his first Second...
His first day of Second Grade, that is...
at Hayama International School...
In his daily uniform: red, navy or white polo with khakis
And in his formal uniform that he wears on Fridays and for functions (the winter jacket is VELVET!!!)
After playing with the Legos, alone, for a few minutes, he joined a few other kids playing eraser wars and Jenga. Not sure if you can see the smile on his face, but I could FEEL it.
Through some mishaps, a typhoon-without-the-typhoon, changing schedules and Stefan being, well, Stefan... Stefan did not make it on the bus home. So, he got a ride with one of the teachers.
In his...
LAND CRUISER!!!
When I asked how his day was, Stefan nearly screamed,
"IT WAS THE BEST. EVER!!!"
I think he liked it... And the ride in the Land Cruiser was just icing on the cake...
