A Happier Place

Today my folks had to put down Sammie.  Sam was a well-loved Cocker Spaniel that was really the "grand-kids" pooch.  Our boys would pray for Sam in the same way they prayed for their brothers and cousins.  He was just part of the family.

Sammie, you will be missed.  You were a great dog with the kids.  Even in your deafness, you would go on high-alert when a baby cried and come to find one of us.  You would go and check on your chicks as they slept.  You would compliantly "sleep" with the boys when they asked, waiting until they were asleep to take leave.  You willingly kept the floors clean under the kids, dutifully placing yourself as close as possible to whichever child was in the seat with the tray...  In spite of losing all your fur, you still could manage to inhabit a house with dust bunnies the approximate size and shape of clone Cocker-Spaniels.

Little Black Sambo - you are in a happier place and the boys will continue to pray for you as part of the family.  You lived a good and full life.
